If you're planning a trip from Belgium to the UK, hopping on the Eurostar from Brussels to London is hands down one of the best ways to travel. I recently took the journey myself, and I have to say—it was an absolute breeze. Whether you’re heading to London for business, a weekend getaway, or an extended stay, here’s everything I learned about travelling on the Eurostar Brussels London route.

Booking My Ticket

Purchasing a ticket for the Brussels to London Eurostar was super easy. I booked mine online through the official Eurostar website, but you can also use third-party travel platforms like Trainline or Omio. Booking in advance is a great idea because prices tend to be much lower when you secure your ticket a few months ahead of time. I even managed to snag a discounted fare!

There are three ticket options:

  • Standard – The most affordable option, offering comfortable seating and access to the onboard café.

  • Standard Premier – Extra spacious seating, complimentary light meals, and refreshments.

  • Business Premier – The ultimate luxury experience with fast-track check-in, gourmet meals, and access to exclusive lounges.

I opted for Standard Premier, and it was well worth it for the extra comfort and snacks.

Departing from Brussels

My journey started at Brussels Midi/Zuid station, the main international rail hub in the city. The Eurostar check-in area was easy to find—just follow the signs, or do what I did and ask a friendly station attendant if you need help.

Since this is an international journey, I had to pass through both Belgian and UK border control before boarding. It went smoothly, but make sure you have your passport or ID card ready.

How Much Time to Allow

To be on the safe side, I arrived at Brussels Midi 90 minutes before departure. This gave me plenty of time to check in, go through security, and grab a quick coffee before boarding.

The Journey: How Long Did It Take?

One of the biggest perks of taking the Brussels to London Eurostar is simply just how fast it is! The journey took approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes—before I knew it, (well, after a few episodes of Suits), I was already in the heart of London!

The train itself was super comfortable, with spacious seating and free WiFi in all classes. I spent most of my time relaxing, watching a series on Netflix, and enjoying the smooth ride. If you get hungry, the onboard café serves snacks, drinks, and meals which I didn't use but it looked good.

Arriving in London

The train pulled into London St Pancras International, a great station with a fantastic selection of shops, cafés, and restaurants. From here, it was incredibly easy to connect to the London Underground, buses, or taxis. Since I had more exploring to do, I took the Tube straight to my next destination.

Why Take the Eurostar?

After experiencing it firsthand, I would say the Eurostar Brussels to London is one of the best ways to travel between these two cities. Here’s why:

  • Speed – Under two hours, city center to city center.

  • Comfort – Spacious seats, free WiFi, and great onboard amenities.

  • Eco-Friendly – Trains produce far fewer carbon emissions than flights.

  • Convenience – No baggage weight limits (within reason), and no long check-in lines.

My Top Tips for Your Trip

  • Book in advance for the best fares.

  • Arrive early to allow enough time for security and check-in.

  • Pack light—while Eurostar has generous luggage allowances, travelling light makes your journey easier.

  • Download the Eurostar app to check train times and updates on the go.

  • Bring a travel adapter—Belgium and the UK have different plug types.

Final Thoughts

After my smooth and stress-free experience on the Eurostar from Brussels to London, I can’t imagine travelling any other way between these two cities. With high-speed convenience, comfortable seating, and seamless border control, I arrived in London feeling refreshed and ready to explore. If you’re planning the trip, I highly recommend it—just book your ticket, pack your bags, and enjoy the ride!
